Overview
Careers in the arts encompass a broad range of disciplines. These include but are not limited to performing arts (such as music, dance, and theater), museum work and arts administration, visual and literary art, and art education. Disciplines in the arts require a great amount of training, experience, and passion. When pursuing a career in the arts, it is important for students to become involved in their surrounding arts community, to keep in touch with their arts faculty and staff, and to develop professional contacts in their field.
