Throughout the year, the Office of Career Strategy works with employers to host networking events and individual company sessions where students can meet employer representatives and learn about their organizations.

Industry-Specific Networking Events

In lieu of one large career fair, the Office of Career Strategy hosts industry-specific networking events. These events offer students a great opportunity to network with a variety of employers and learn about any available internship or full-time opportunities. Most of these events occur in the fall semester. The list below includes events planned for the spring 2018 semester. Registration information is posted in the Events tab of the Yale Career Link under “workshops.”

Event Date Time
Creative Careers Fair January 23, 2018 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Common Good Career Fair January 26, 2018 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Engineering Career Fair Collaborative

November 15, 2017, 3:30pm-6:00pm, Cambridge, MA

Meet representatives from engineering firms across the country seeking mechanical, environmental, electrical, chemical, and biomedical engineering students for full-time and internship opportunities in innovative fields, including robotics, energy, medical devices, environmental services, transportation, and design! This event is a collaboration between Harvard, Boston University, Olin College, Tufts University, MIT, and Yale University. Undergraduate and Graduate Engineering students from these six institutions are invited to attend. To view participating employers and RSVP, log on to Yale Career Link.

Employer Information Sessions

Individual employers may also host events for students throughout the year on-campus or virtually. These events may include company presentations, coffee chats, office hours, mock interviews, webinars, or tech talks. Students can view a list of any upcoming individual employer events by going to the Events tab in the Yale Career Link, and then selecting “information sessions.”

Dress Code for Employer Events

The Yale Office of Career Strategy implements a business casual dress code for industry networking events, employer information sessions, tech talks, and other on-campus employer recruiting events. Please note that this business casual dress code does not apply to on-campus interviews; please review the Interview Attire webpage for more information.

Business casual attire may include pants, shirts, skirts, and dresses that, while not formal, are appropriate for a professional environment. Clothing should be pressed, and should be neither too loose nor too tight. Torn or frayed clothing is unacceptable, as is anything that has words or pictures that may be offensive. Examples of acceptable business casual attire include a sweater or blouse with khaki pants, a skirt, or corduroy pants.
