Each year the Office of Career Strategy hosts over one hundred programs and workshops for students to learn about careers and graduate programs, interact with professionals, and build basic career skills. OCS offers a variety of workshops and career panels to support students with their career development. These programs focus on equipping students with job/internship search strategies and resources; creating and organizing application materials for graduate school, internships and jobs, and preparing students for the workforce.
In addition, the Office of Career Strategy works with employers to coordinate information sessions to enable students to learn more about the nature of the work and potential career opportunities. The information sessions usually take place at the beginning of each semester and are held across campus. Students who choose to attend have the opportunity to learn about the organization as well as network with representatives.
The Office of Career Strategy also partners with organizations throughout the United States, predominately in large cities and their surrounding areas, for the OCS Job Shadowing and Yale Career Trek Program. This program is designed for career exploration and provides an unparalleled opportunity to learn more about professional opportunities in a given career field. Through a “day-in-the-life" experience, the program provides students with practical understanding of daily life in a given industry, career path, or profession.
