YDC Theater Camp (Collaborative Arts Matching Program)

Are you…

  • Tired?
  • A Yale student who has not gotten involved with theater yet who wants to try it out?
  • An actor who didn’t get cast this casting cycle but will simply implode without theater/theater people in your life?
  • A playwright with a show you want to hear out loud?
  • A director with a play you love and have always wanted to direct?
  • A composer with a musical you want to workshop?
  • A tech person who doesn’t know how to get involved with the universe of tech persons?
  • A non-first-year who feels they’ve “missed the boat” on getting involved with theater at Yale?
  • Just too busy to do anything high-commitment right now?

Then Sign Up for YDC Theater CAMP!

How Does it Work?

Using some real simple Google Forms, you can sign up to be a CAMP Creator or a CAMP Collaborator. Being a CAMP Collaborator means you want theatermakers at Yale to know you’re interested in doing low-stakes theater this semester (as an actor, director, SM, tech person, accompanist, etc.).There are no auditions for CAMP plays!Being a CAMP Creator means you have a show you want to have read/workshopped.

Why?

The YDC is committed to the idea that anyone who wants to get involved with theater at Yale should be able to get involved with theater at Yale. Theater is and should seek to be an exceptionally welcoming and accessible environment where wacky folks can come together and make beautiful things. That’s why we’ve created CAMP
