In this exciting role of Senior Biomedical Engineer, you will be responsible for biomedical research in wound healing and tissue remodeling processes. You will be responsible for experimental design, execution, and analysis of in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo testing of gastrointestinal cells and tissues within surgical stapling contexts.

  • A Day in the Life
    Responsibilities include are but not limited:

    Perform standard cell culture and biological assay techniques such as western
    blots, RT-PCR, and ELISA.
    Design and execute benchtop and preclinical studies which properly isolate
    variables of interest
    Identify biological and/or mechanical mechanisms driving tissue remodeling
    and wound healing in surgical contexts
    Advance product evaluation techniques through development of new testing
    Inform design of innovative products through generation of broadly
    applicable biological data that drive design input parameters
    Analyze data, prepare technical reports, and communicate experimental
    results to cross-functional teams
    Maintain research progress by driving multiple projects forward in parallel
    Participate in publication strategy for research findings
    Lead laboratory development for biological testing in the surgical stapling
    Initiate and manage collaborative research opportunities when appropriate
    Investigate opportunities to develop clinically relevant models of disease

Must Have (Minimum Requirements):

To be considered for this role, please ensure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume. Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications) MS or PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related discipline
Experience in the field of mechanobiology and/or wound healing
Experience in bioinformatics and/or system biology
Experience in successfully designing and executing experiments involving
cell and/or tissue culture together with in vitro assays
Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and computer software skills
utilizing research-based applications
Ability to compile and organize technical data using Excel, Word, or
Proficiency in MS Office and Python/MatLab
