Grace Year

An Episcopal Service Corps Program in the Hudson Valley

Five recent college graduates each year are invited to live together in intentional community in Millbrook, NY, about 90 minutes north of New York City. The fellows serve the community by working at local nonprofits and spend time reflecting on their experience, through the lenses of spirituality, social justice and leadership. Our goal is to assist fellows in clarifying their values, deepening their spirituality, and learning professional skills to sustain them for a lifetime of transforming leadership.

Fellows work for 32 hours each week in the areas of immigration advocacy, youth empowerment, ecojustice and conservation, feeding programs and food justice, racial justice, and disability services. Weekly seminars provide opportunities for learning about various spiritual practices and faiths, servant leadership and community organizing, vocation and discernment. Housing, food, and transportation are provided and fellows are also given a monthly stipend and a relocation bonus at the end of their term.

Applications are currently open for the 2023-2024 program year, starting in August. Women, people of color, LGBTQ people, and students with diverse faith backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Undocumented students are also welcome to apply.
