OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Yale-Cornell Research Project

Dr. Theresa Schenker, German Language Program Director, is conducting an undergraduate research study about their reasons for (not) enrolling in language courses at Yale University. You do not need to be taking a language course to participate. She is most interested in hearing from students who have never enrolled in a language course, from those who were in the past enrolled in a language course, those who are currently enrolled in a language course, and those who may consider enrolling in a language course in the future. The anonymous, online survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. You access the survey here: https://cornell.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3NPKlZzE9547eDk

Fund Our School Petition

Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief support and covid era funding came to an end on September 30th. The New Haven Public School District will lose funds amounting to 127 million dollars. Last month, the district began with a 2-million-dollar budget deficit. These funds were essential in addressing students with disabilities and students in urban communities. In response, local organizers in New Haven, and around the country, are organizing the Fund Our School Petition to pressure school boards and state leadership. Teacher unions and public-school advocates hope that with CT’s 4-billion-dollar rainy day fund, CT can address the funding crisis across its districts. Sign the petition and support New Haven students!
