Mission: Cure blood cancer, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients, and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.
Commitment: 10 hours per week (more if desired) or requirement of internship. Desired minimum of one semester. Approx. 150 hours total. Flexible hours. 12 weeks.
Work Location: Remote: must have access to computer, internet, email, and phone.
Work Direction: Works under the direction of the Patient & Community Outreach Manager to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities.
Training: LLS orientation and Student Intern training pertaining to job duties and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning education events, enter data, and market mission information to local region and public.
- Assist in reaching Patient & Community Outreach goals and objectives in the region; increasing number of new patient/caregiver households who connect with LLS, connect with targeted underserved communities, conducting market research to achieve that goal.
- Assist in providing Region mission integration support.
- Administer First Connection Program, a peer-to-peer support program, matching patients in Salesforce.
- Data entry and tracking phone calls and emails in Salesforce.
- Create social media collateral as needed.
- Create a pipeline of Healthcare Professionals, set up meetings to discuss LLS programs services available to their patients, and be another point-of-contact throughout the semester (drop off additional materials, etc.)
Position Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor on Teams/Zoom and phone/email.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Evidenced sensitivity (experience working with cancer patients preferred.)
