Wayward Films is seeking remote interns to support the company’s development team, primarily providing detailed and thoughtful coverage on screenplays, novels and additional IP during SUMMER 2025.
Internship Dates: May 2025 – August 2025 (exact dates flexible)
Commitment: 12 hours per week (inclusive of reading time)

Founded and led by top filmmaker Yann Demange (’71, White Boy Rick, Lovecraft Country, Top Boy), Wayward believes deeply in the power of storytelling and cinema to transcend and shape culture. Our intention is to create entertaining, authored, and diverse content that invites conversation, challenges expectations, and engages across borders. The company has an exciting slate of feature films, as well as several television projects in development with distinguished partners, such as Film4, BBC Films, A24 and others.
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates pursuing a career in the entertainment industry to be exposed to, and engage with compelling material across formats (including film/TV scripts, project pitches, and other IP) and participate in areas of the company’s development and production activities with executives.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled college student
- Passionate about pursuing a career in film/television production and development
- Excellent reading and writing skills, ability to write coverage in a timely manner
- Responsible, communicative team member
Please note that the internship is unpaid and is for academic credit only. Candidates must be able to maintain an aligned hourly commitment per week.
