Publish with the Columbia University Black Pre-law Journal

The Black Pre-Law Journal publishes undergraduate legal scholarship focusing on critical issues within the Black community. Articles from previous semesters may be read HERE. They invite you to submit first drafts of their papers on topics such as civil rights law, constitutional law, entertainment law, environmental law, health law, immigration law, technology law, and business law by Sunday, October 26th, 2025, 11:59 PM ET. After submission, students can expect to be matched with an editor in the relevant section to work with throughout the semester.

Submissions may be submitted HERE. Submissions should be double-spaced in .doc or .docx format, follow Chicago-style citations, and range from 5 to 10 pages.

This is an excellent chance to contribute to legal scholarship through a recognized Columbia University organization, which can also strengthen your law school application.
