Position Description:
We are an upscale dermatology practice in Manhattan looking for a warm, friendly, organized, and efficient medical assistant. The majority of your job would be assisting Dr. Halperin during surgeries and office visits. Dr. Peter Halperin is recognized by New York Magazine and Castle Connelly’s Top Doctor Award as one of NY’s premier Medical & Cosmetic Dermatologists.
The ideal start date is June 8th, 2026. The job is full-time, Monday-Thursday. We have a 4-week training program for new medical assistants. If you are looking to go to medical school in the future, this is a great opportunity to learn how a doctor practices medicine and runs a medical office. Dr. Halperin will write a letter of reference to support applications to graduate school, if needed. Furthermore, flexibility is given for interviews. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Halperin has hired many college graduates and post-bacs. We are looking for at least a 2-year commitment.
You will be an integral part of the office. Responsibilities include: assisting the doctor during surgeries and office visits, escorting patients to exam rooms, taking medical histories, using the electronic medical system, communicating with other physicians’ offices & labs, working with insurance companies and pharmacies.
Dr. Peter Halperin is a sole practitioner and is in private practice on the Upper East Side (61st off Park). He graduated from Brandeis University and NYU Medical School and completed residency at Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Halperin is a Board Certified Dermatologist, Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at the Cornell Medical College.
