Volunteer positions available for pre-health professions students as Line Research Associates (RAs) in Emergency Medicine
- Manageable time commitment:
- one, 4-hour shift per week in the Emergency Department at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT
- Enroll participants in clinical research
- National Alliance of Research Associates Program’s (NARAP’s) multi-center study on facilitating primary health care cancer screenings
- Potentially the largest prospective, interventional study ever done …in the world!
- Structured, clinical research interactions with patients and their visitors
- RAs routinely have encounters mirroring clinician history-taking with 100-150 emergency patients and their visitors per semester
- Performance assessments form a Letter of Evaluation sent to your Health Professions Adviser
- Acceptance to the Program and shift times in the Emergency Department selected according to receipt of application materials
- Limited slots available for each semester
Training Days (MANDATORY) begin each semester
Saturday, 3 October, 8AM-5PM at St. Vincent’s Medical Center
