Shi Shen

Shi Shen is a third-year PhD student in Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on the mechanism of myocardial recovery using engineered heart tissues to better understand cardiac muscle physiology and improve treatment options. Outside of the lab, Shi serves as the president of Yale graduate student consulting club to help members explore a career in consulting. Before graduate school, Shi attended a culinary program with a focus on sustainability and farm-to-table movement and interned at a Michelin-starred restaurant in the bay area. In his past time, Shi is a marathoner, cyclist, and sourdough baking enthusiast.
