We live in a world saturated by information and data. At Yale, Ph.D. students master different methodologies and practices for working with information and data in their chosen field of study.
The Data Management core competency is intended to help Ph.D students push beyond the boundaries of their discipline, to gain knowledge and experience in different methods and modes of  data collection, analysis, and dissemination. Information management is a set of integrated skills that encompass the discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and evaluated, and the use of information in creating new knowledge while participating ethically in communities of learning.
Ph.D. students and early career scholars interested in acquiring extra-disciplinary skills to organize, manage, and analyze data and information will find resources here to help them:
- discover and organize information and data
- utilize tools to organize, manage, and visualize information and data
- analyze and evaluate information and data
- present complex information and data to diverse audiences
