Ever thought about making a podcast? Are you interested in gaining a new skill set that helps you communicate your research and graduate student experience to a broader audience through a new medium? Do you have a story to tell about your life and research as a graduate student? If you answered yes to these questions, you are at the right place!
Team PhD – The Podcast Project is an exciting new opportunity for  PhD students to work on teams to create a podcast series that dives into the graduate experience at Yale. The teams will work with the GSAS Director of Communications to develop a podcast theme and will use a self-guided curriculum to work together on all aspects of production, with assistance from experienced mentors. The goal is to produce a podcast for the Yale community and beyond that illuminates the amazing research PhD  students are doing around campus and features some of the interesting challenges students face in their journey.
As a member of this podcast team, you will gain important professional skills that can be leveraged for any future career, including the ability to:
- Communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences
- Execute long-term projects outside of your academic work
- Work productively as a team towards a common goal
Six PhD students from humanities and social sciences and six PhD students from STEM fields will be chosen for this project. Participants will be expected to commit 2-3 hours/week to this project for the academic year. Â Each student will receive a stipend of $500.
