Are you passionate about biotech? Does the thought of helping build a new company inspire you? Three experts from biotech and venture capital, including a Yale alumna, will discuss the talent they seek and entry points in this exciting field.
Especially relevant to Ph.D.’s, Postdocs, MD/Ph.D.’s, and other advanced degree holders considering a career in industry.
Undergrads, particularly those considering a graduate degree in the life sciences, will benefit from an overview of the biotech ecosystem.

Anna L. Barry, Ph.D. 1998

Korro Bio
Anna Barry, Ph.D., J.D., chief legal officer & head of corporate strategy at Korro Bio, is a seasoned biotech executive with more than 20 years of senior leadership and legal experience in the life sciences industry. Prior to Korro, Anna was most recently senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary at Jounce Therapeutics. She was responsible for all aspects of its legal department, negotiated strategic partnerships, and executed its initial public offering.
Before Jounce Therapeutics, Anna served as a senior director of IP at Five Prime Therapeutics and senior patent counsel at Genentech. Prior to Genentech, Anna was an attorney at Heller Ehrman LLP, where her practice focused on counseling life sciences and biotechnology companies.
Anna received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University, an M.S. and a Ph.D. in biophysical chemistry from Yale University, and a B.S. in chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Andrea DiMella
Vice President, Head of Talent
Atlas Ventures
Andrea DiMella joined Atlas in 2019 and serves as the firm’s Vice President, Head of Talent. She oversees and executes strategy for the firm’s efforts in attracting the top people in the industry to Atlas and its companies.
Before joining Atlas, Andrea was director of recruiting at Third Rock Ventures. Andrea joined Third Rock Ventures in 2015 and was responsible for establishing executive teams for Third Rock and its portfolio companies. Prior to joining Third Rock, Andrea worked in senior executive search & talent acquisition roles across the industry at Biogen, Genentech, Amgen, and Celera. Andrea also worked on the retained search and agency side of recruiting and started her career at the bench in Stan Prusiner’s lab at UCSF and then Berlex Biosciences.
Andrea received a B.A. in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Tracy Nicholson
Vice President, Recruiting
Third Rock Ventures
Tracy focuses on cross-functional recruiting to build teams within our portfolio companies, as well as performing executive search for the firm. Tracy has 15 years of recruiting experience specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and has assisted with recruiting for several of the firm’s portfolio companies, including Jounce Therapeutics, Warp Drive Bio, and Editas Medicine.
Prior to joining Third Rock, she was the human resources manager and recruiter at Agios Pharmaceuticals. She also consulted at larger biotech and pharmaceutical companies like Novartis and Vertex, and at search firms before going in-house. Before launching her recruiting career, Tracy worked as a research scientist at Biogen, Genome Therapeutics, and Avant Immunotherapies.
Tracy earned a B.S., Biology from Boston University.
