The Windham-Campbell Prizes Virtual Festival is an innovative salon series showcasing the creativity of the eight recipients of the 2021 Windham-Campbell Prizes. Each week’s episode will highlight one writer in performances specially curated to their interests and abilities. They will feature theater, music, food, drawing, architecture, translation, postcards, and more! Following each episode, authors will join audience members in a live question-and-answer session. Those in attendance will also have access to a live chat, and loads of on-demand content, including a gallery of objects from Yale’s art galleries and library collections.
In her landmark criticism and frank, elegiac, often ruefully funny memoirs, Vivian Gornick asks us to connect the ways in which we think, write, and love, drawing from her feminism, intellectual clarity, and radical awareness of a personal story’s capacity to enlarge us all.
