Educators may also contribute to their fields through their own art, professional conferences and workshops, and publications. There are often opportunities for public presentations (student art shows, school performances).

Possible Occupational Titles in Music, Theater, Dance, Digital Media, Creative Writing, Visual Arts: elementary-school teacher, high-school teacher, college instructor or professor, private coach/teacher/tutor, studio teacher, education director (in museums, community arts programs, performing organizations).

Things to Consider

Assess your artistic abilities and your skills/willingness to interact with others. Talk with professionals in your field, participate in your field of art, gain experience through volunteer opportunities and internships. Talk with area teachers and your professors regarding the value of graduate work. Certification requirements vary across the arts, types of schools/organizations, and states.
