Leadership Development Programs

Leadership Development Programs, also called rotational programs, are meant to provide entry-level hires with a cross functional perspective of an organization. These programs can vary from a few months to a few years, where the employee spends several weeks or months in each of the key functional areas of the employer. The goal of these programs is to expose high potential employees to multiple aspects of the company with the hope that they will advance in the future to lead across those functions.  Keep in mind that a number of these programs may have application timelines during the fall semester.

Leadership Development Programs should not be confused with Gap-Year opportunities, which are structured for an employee to stay with the organization for only a set term. In contrast, Leadership Development Programs are an investment the organization is making in their employees to prepare them for advanced leadership roles within that organization.

Abbott Management Development Program

Assignments in our rotational Development Programs are formally structured, two-to-three-year assignments designed to let participants explore new career opportunities and experiences based on specific functions or disciplines.

Abercrombie & Fitch Design Training Programs

The Design Training Program is an intensive multi-week orientation that builds upon formal design education and gives the tools necessary to apply university knowledge at A&F. Through interactive, hands-on classroom sessions and on-the-job experience, trainees develop a solid foundation of their responsibilities throughout the product lifecycle. After training, Assistant Designers are placed by product category in one of our brands and can make an immediate creative experience in all aspects of the design process, while working collaboratively with design leaders and cross-functional team members.

The A&F Leadership Development Programs are highly competitive initiatives, unique for their entrepreneurial structure, and provide immediate exposure to senior level leaders. With a “promote from within” mentality, these programs have been designed to shape top candidates into the future leaders of our company. Columbia Publishing Course

Since its inception 70 years ago (as the Radcliffe Publishing Course) the Columbia Publishing Course has been recognized as the premier training ground for those aspiring to work in publishing. Our six‐week summer program in New York prepares students for entry-level jobs in all aspects of book, magazine and digital publishing through daily lectures and workshops.

Dow Jones Rotation Leadership Program

We’ve created a rigorous rotation program where you will spend 12 months learning the intricacies of Dow Jones and bringing fresh eyes to current challenges within the company. NYU Summer Publishing Institute

The Summer Publishing Institute (SPI) immerses students in an intense, six-week study of book, magazine, and digital publishing. University of Denver: Denver Publishing Institute

The Denver Publishing Institute is the ideal launching pad for your career in book publishing. During four weeks, it will introduce you to the exciting and ever-changing world of book publishing. WPP Fellowship
