What you’ll do as a Development Intern at Akuna:
We are seeking Development Interns to join our innovative and growing technology team for our 10-week internship Akunacademy. In this role you will work alongside our trading and software team to design and implement elegant solutions to complex and interesting problems. We have the following teams within the Development team at Akuna:
C++: In this role you will collaborate with our Trading and Software teams on applications that have critical, low latency processes and where C++ is used for the computational heavy lifting.
Python: As a member of this team, you will design and build trading infrastructure including scalable micro-services, trader reports, automation tools, and APIs used across the firm.
Data Infrastructure (Java or Scala): This team works to define schemata for critical datasets, collect internal/external data, perform transformations in our AWS cluster, and efficiently store the data for accessibly.
Data Visualization (C#, C++ or Java): In this role, you will develop high performance, multi-threaded user-interfaces to connect traders with a real-time view of the markets.
FPGA: Work within the FPGA team to create and deploy digital logic designs that implement trading algorithms in real-time systems with high performance computing requirements. FPGA intern candidates must graduate by summer 2023.
Qualities that make great candidates:
Pursuing a BS/MS/ PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related field
Strong programming skills in Object Oriented Python Development
Demonstrated experience with distributed systems
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
An interest in user interface technologies and UX
Ability to communicate, obtain requirements, find solutions and implement them in a clean and concise way
Create an easily understood and testable codebase that can change as quickly as market conditions require
Passion for innovation and building systems from the ground up
Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently
Must be graduating Summer 2022 or prior
Major GPA of 3.0 or above
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required on the first day of employment including F-1 students using CPT, OPT or STEM
