Youth Investment Fellow
This position is part of the Alaska Fellows Program. All fellows live together, “in community,” in their respective host site. Each host site is unique and remarkable.
Fellows receive housing, a $1000 monthly living stipend and a $500 relocation stipend. The fellowship includes facilitated and funded opening and closing retreats.

Title: Youth Investment Fellow
The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) is a state-owned corporation based in Juneau that manages the assets of the Alaska Permanent Fund and other funds designated by law. Alaska’s youth are the future leaders of our great State. As the investment manager of Alaska’s largest renewable financial resource, APFC is looking for a Fellow who will share in our passion — working for the benefit of future generations of Alaskans.
The Fellow will research and develop best practices, content curriculum and delivery mediums for an Alaskan Youth Investment Education Program. The program’s primary objectives are to educate younger Alaskan’s about financial literacy, the Permanent Fund, its structure, investment management, and how this $81 billion Fund is utilized as a renewable financial resource for the State of Alaska.
The Fellow will develop a curriculum that will meet content delivery needs across Alaska in traditional and multimedia formats. The initial focus of this program and curriculum will be on middle school and high school levels.
The Fellow will primarily work in collaboration with our Communications and Executive management teams on two key initiatives:
Content & Curriculum Development: Creating engaging and relevant content and curriculum that achieves programmatic goals as set forth by APFC’s Communication and Executive Management teams.
Plan out the foundation for curriculum development by identifying specific objectives and audiences and conducting a needs assessment and analysis as appropriate.
Determine desired outcomes and appropriate approach for audience, grade levels, and objectives.
Identify existing apps and platforms that could be used to achieve and/or enhance program goals.
Produce multimedia curriculum for download and training by students and educators.
Test and revise curriculum to ensure effectiveness and engagement.
Create a training program for facilitators and incorporate relevant feedback to enhance program delivery.
Outreach & Partnerships Development for Effective Program Implementation
In conjunction with APFC Communications team, build and document partnerships with School Districts, Junior Achievement, and various networks of educators throughout Alaska to:
Establish relationships and identify effective means of communicating with students across the state.
Work with identified stakeholders to roll out teacher education.
Create a distribution network to ensure effective delivery of content to educators across the state.
Project management and project documentation skills
