WHO WE ARE
Alpha One Disability + Aging Solutions promotes independent living by empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals while living the community. We advocate for and coordinate consumer programs and services as well as access and change within society throughout the state of Maine. We also connect Mainers with funding sources that can be used to purchase adaptive equipment, assistive technology, or to make home modifications.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide support to Independent Living Specialists by assisting in care coordination tasks
- Monthly check-in calls
- Care management visits
- Aid consumers in recruiting and hiring caregivers
- Perform agency staffing searches
- Update independent living goals with consumers
- Maintain accurate consumer records
- Ensure case notes and other required documentation is completed promptly
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently a graduate student or rising senior undergraduate student in one of the following:
- Masters in Social Work (MSW)
- Bachelors in Social Work (BSW)
- Masters in Mental Health Counseling (MS or MA)
- Strong desire to see the Independent Living Philosophy carried out in the community
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
