An SEC registered, multifamily office seeks a research analyst to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Analyst will work directly with the Managing Director and Portfolio Manager to provide research support across the firm’s investment products and strategies, with the following responsibilities:  

  • Lead analyst on internal long-short equity hedge fund, responsible for maintaining due diligence on current and prospective portfolio positions, and proactively generating new ideas  
  • Emphasis will be on performing financial analyses, conducting primary research on companies and industries, preparing and updating valuation models and monitoring existing investments
  • Job requires balancing equity research with daily operational tasks (P/L reconciliation, reporting, trade execution, etc.). The ideal candidate will be able to contribute process improvements (spreadsheet redesign, macro building, etc.) to reduce the time consumed by operations
  • Occasionally provide research and due diligence support to team on direct private investment deals
  • Occasionally provide research input on potential 3rd-party investment managers
  • Candidate must be able to work on and prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, be proactive in developing solutions and take initiative without prodding
  • Candidate must be able to synthesize information quickly and communicate the bottom line effectively

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years sell side or buy side research experience, including experience with basic derivatives investing, some familiarity with PE a bonus
  • Distinguished educational background
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task
  • Passion for investing, innate curiosity and desire to learn
  • Strong communication and quantitative skills
  • Hardworking with good attitude, open to constructive feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic financial modeling

The Office of Career Strategy works with students and alums of Yale College and Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as well as Yale postdoctoral scholars from all disciplines.
