JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for coordinating all aspects of grant development and reporting; monitoring and ensuring completion of grant deliverables, monitoring of policies and activities that are relevant to the agency’s mission; conducting grants-related needs assessments and research review, and planning of corporate, facilities, and special projects as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Grant Writing: Identify grant opportunities (governmental, foundation, and corporate) through multiple sources including internet research, foundation database, networking, prospecting, and document review. Independently write and package grant applications. Work closely with program staff on all elements of compelling and persuasive grant applications, including project descriptions, needs statements, objective and outcome development, and project budgets. Monitor grant project progress and provide necessary follow-up throughout the process (e.g. providing additional information, setting up meetings, facilitating scope or budget revisions, attending grants related events, etc.).
Grant Reporting and Contract Monitoring: Monitor grant contract reporting requirements and deadlines, and work with program staff to ensure compliance and timely submission of reports or other contract requirements. Write high-quality grant reports while working closely with program staff. Provide timely response to requests and inquiries from foundations, funding agencies, government agencies, or community-based organizations, which may include written materials.
Program Planning, Evaluation, and Projects: Work with program staff to strategize persuasive and effective program and project pitches, and to develop uniform program objectives and outcomes. Work with AHS Departments to strategize ways to make programs and projects more competitive for funders. Assist with collecting and analyzing external data on AHS’ service area to determine community needs, as needed. Initiate and participate in community-based evaluation activities with agency staff, as needed.

Office of Career Strategy

The Office of Career Strategy works with students and alums of Yale College and Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as well as Yale postdoctoral scholars from all disciplines.
