The Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University seeks to hire a course instructor to serve as co-instructor in fall 2021 and instructor-in-charge in spring of 2022 of two x ½ credit laboratory courses in biochemistry. The first course is an introductory course required for our major, MB&B 251L “Laboratory for Biochemistry”. The second is an advanced elective taught in the spring in which students pursue independent projects, MB&B 460L “Advanced Biochemistry Laboratory”. The term will be a 9-month academic appointment starting September 1, 2021, with possibility of renewal based on performance evaluation and departmental need.
Duties include all aspects of execution of a college-level laboratory course including setting and delivering curriculum, overseeing safety and practical hands-on training, grading, and coordinating teaching assistants. Existing curricula and course materials are available and can be used as-is. Alternatively, the successful candidate is invited to make changes and/or substitute didactics in consultation with the department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies.
