Data Science Intern (Part-time or Full-time)

School Year: Graduate Students

Length of Internship: 3 or 6 Months

Format: Remote or Hybrid (Lincolnshire, IL)

Camping World is looking for several Data Science Interns beginning immediately. As a paid Data Science Intern, you will gain hands-on experience applying your data science, data engineering, and/or software development training and skills within our pricing and inventory departments.

Typical tasks will include collecting data from our enterprise systems, web scraping, cleaning data, basic analysis, visualizations, etc. Datasets may be small to medium sized (10 million rows).

We are looking for talented people who want to enhance their education or begin their data science career immersed in a real-world experience. If you are eager to learn, have a strong interest and want to further develop yourself as a professional; this is the ideal role for you .

Several positions are available including part time positions that can be performed remotely or in hybrid format while taking classes.

Responsibilities:

  • Use Python, R, or analytical tools to organize and analyze data

  • Work with the pricing and inventory team to complete analysis and development projects and tasks

  • Handle data and analysis requests from the colleagues

  • Explore new datasets, join multiple datasets for deeper analysis.

  • Take on individual special projects as needed to enhance your knowledge and skills

Must Have Qualifications:

  • In pursuit of, or a recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science or a closely related field.

  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

  • Proficiency in a data science programming language, preferably Python.

  • Experience or ability to quickly learn related technologies such as SQL, Jupyter notebook environment and an IDE such as RStudio or Spyder.

  • Basic knowledge of data cleaning, data exploration, statistical analysis, and visualizations.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor and strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks.

  • Must be diligent, organized, and extremely detail-oriented

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft analytical tools, including Power BI, Excel, VBA, and/or PowerQuery.

  • Experience with software and web development

  • Knowledge of software development and IT best practices.

The Office of Career Strategy works with students and alums of Yale College and Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as well as Yale postdoctoral scholars from all disciplines. The Office of Career Strategy advisors help students, alums, and postdocs to clarify career aspirations, identify opportunities, and offer support at every stage of career development.
