Responsibilities:Senior Consultants (SCs) are responsible both for contributing to project execution and for supporting initiatives designed to promote company values and interconnectedness. Senior Consultants work closely with senior project staff to develop high-quality content for client-facing and internal deliverables. Senior Consultants are expected to work on 1-3 concurrent projects and to have regular interactions with clients. As part of the US Market Access/Reimbursement team, you will work on creating and implementing US payer and access strategies for pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostic technology clients. This primarily involves working with senior staff to execute projects and completing research and development of client deliverables.
Common project types include:• Performing reimbursement landscape assessments for our clients’ technologies and their competitors, which include evaluating clinical literature, health economic and outcomes literature, and payer medical/pharmacy policies• Assessing coding and payment channels for varied healthcare ecosystems• Conducting qualitative and quantitative research with payers and providers • Conducting market sizing, segmentation, and penetration analyses across various data sets• Creating product-level market access and commercialization strategies for technologies in the early stages of the product development cycle• Building Excel-based financial models to evaluate product development scenarios and inform pricing strategy• Developing pricing and reimbursement strategies for new products• Designing outcomes and econometric studies in a way that resonates with key stakeholder unmet needs• Engaging executive level audiences to deliver actionable insights and recommendations
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: conducting secondary research to fully understand background and contextual information needed to support project design and execution; analyzing information (scientific, clinical, and financial) to discern the business implications of new technologies and emerging trends; conducting primary research interviews with payers, clinicians/thought leaders, and executives in relevant fields to answer outstanding strategic questions; and preparing and presenting written reports to Guidehouse management and clients. Travel is project-dependent, but initially averages less than 20 percent.

• BA/BS degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Business or related analytical course of study with strong record of academic success; advanced degree/PhD; or 2+ years of Life Science Industry (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Specialty Pharma and/or Medical Technology) or Consulting experience.• Deep knowledge of the US healthcare system.• Self-starter with an ability to both (1) embrace collaborative approaches whilst also working independently (with oversight from management), and (2) take initiative in pursuing and understanding industry specific knowledge with a willingness to inquire about areas of uncertainty.• Demonstrated ability to leverage analytical techniques and use data to guide strategic decision-making and complex problem solving (candidate must have data collection, research, and information-finding experience in a life sciences field).• Demonstrated attention to detail and possession of strong written and verbal communication skills.• Proficient with standard Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.• Must be willing and able to travel to client sites across the US, up to 20% of the time.• Authorized to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
