Kaphar Studio is looking for a Studio intern to assist with daily operations including: inventory and database management, image archiving, supporting in studio events as well as external projects and initiatives, maintaining studio organization and cleanliness, copy writing and editing. An ability to adapt to new tasks in a fast paced environment is a must! This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of fine art administration and project management alongside a seasoned team of professionals.

This position reports directly to the Director. Titus Kaphar (b. 1976, Kalamazoo, Michigan) is a painter, sculptor and filmmaker who lives and works in New Haven, CT. Kaphar received an MFA from the Yale School of Art and is a distinguished recipient of numerous prizes and awards including a 2018 MacArthur Fellowship, a 2018 Art for Justice Fund grant, a 2016 Robert R. Rauschenberg Artist as Activist grant, and a 2015 Creative Capital grant. Kaphar’s work has been included in solo exhibitions at Seattle Art Museum, The Studio Museum in Harlem, MoMA PS1 and National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC, among others. His work is included in the collections of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AR; the 21C Museum Collection; Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit, MI; The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY; Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY; and Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, CT, amongst others. Kaphar founded his production company, Revolution Ready, in 2019 and is currently working on two feature length films inspired by his work.

Office of Career Strategy

The Office of Career Strategy works with students and alums of Yale College and Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as well as Yale postdoctoral scholars from all disciplines. The Office of Career Strategy advisors help students, alums, and postdocs to clarify career aspirations, identify opportunities, and offer support at every stage of career development.
