Kobre & Kim is an Am Law 200 global law firm focused exclusively on disputes and investigations, often involving fraud and misconduct. Recognized as the premier firm for cross-border disputes, the firm has a particular focus on financial products and services litigation, insolvency disputes, intellectual property litigation, international judgment enforcement and asset recovery, and U.S. government enforcement and regulatory investigations. The firm has more than 150 lawyers and analysts located in multiple jurisdictions throughout its locations around the world. Kobre & Kim recognizes the value of incorporating diverse perspectives and professional disciplines to generate the most effective solutions for clients.
Kobre & Kim is accepting applications for the Analyst position with a start date of summer 2022 for the following office locations: New York, Miami, San Francisco, São Paulo, Washington DC, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tel Aviv and Dubai. There may be the potential for more immediate openings prior to June 2022 in Dubai, São Paulo and/or Tel Aviv offices. Work authorization is required for employment in the hired office location, but Optional Practical Training (OPT) is accepted for U.S. offices.
The Analyst position is an excellent opportunity for recent college graduates or young professionals to gain substantive, hands-on experience in the dynamic fields of complex civil and criminal financial litigation. Analysts immediately join case teams and closely collaborate with the firm’s lawyers, enjoying levels of responsibility and client contact surpassing what other law firms offer. Analysts also support knowledge management and global business development to drive the firm’s practice and product innovation forward.
General duties include factual and financial analysis; legal and open-source research; preparation of court papers; document review and analysis; substantive factual drafting; overseeing case team workflow and project management; and attendance in court or client meetings under lawyer supervision.
Analysts work with lawyers and other professionals across all Kobre & Kim locations including, but not limited to, our offices in New York, Washington DC, San Francisco, Miami, London, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai, São Paulo, Tel Aviv, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. All Analysts have opportunities for advancement after their first year, including transitioning to management roles, specializing in practice areas and/or transferring to other offices worldwide. Compensation is highly competitive with top-tier consulting firms.
Analysts are typically top-ranked graduates from prestigious colleges and universities. Candidates should possess a four-year college degree, a strong academic background and excellent writing, research, teamwork and communication skills. We strongly encourage applications from self-confident, highly motivated individuals who display a broad range of academic and extracurricular interests. Interest in exploring financial markets and pursuing a career in law is welcomed but not necessary. All majors including STEM, finance, social sciences and liberal arts should apply. Additional language skills — Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish — are not required but strongly encouraged. Analysts are expected to remain with the firm for a minimum of two years.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the hired location. Temporary work authorization via OPT in a U.S. office is accepted or Pre-Settlement Status for the London office. H1B visas are not being offered as an option at this time but we will allow transfers to other offices (e.g. 1 year in NY under OPT then transfer to Hong Kong).
