The Process Development Engineer is responsible for defining and developing engineering solutions to meet business requirements. As part of the Corporate Process Engineering group based in Alpharetta, GA, you will conduct alternative analysis evaluation to determine risks and return on potential capital projects to meet capacity, new product, cost reduction, and improved quality targets for Stryten’s North American battery business. Essential duties include the following, and other duties may be assigned.
Design and development of manufacturing processes to support introduction of new or improved product designs, improved manufacturing methods, product components and materials.
Lead cross functional teams to drive capital project conceptualization, development, business case creation and project planning to meet the business goals.
Support process implementation including issuing initial process specifications, completing process failure mode and effects analysis, evaluating work instructions and managing the initial onsite process validation.
Education, Experience, Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred.
Battery industry or automotive industry experience is preferred.
Must have the aptitude to read and write documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be capable of clearly presenting complex subjects and/or business cases to the executive leadership team.
Must be able to translate business needs into manufacturing targets and gain alignment from all stakeholders towards achieving them.
Project Scoping & Business Case Development – Ability to convert business objectives to a fully defined project, create project teams and create business case estimates (Estimate expected profitability, implementation time, and risk).
Planning & Organizing – Generate and execute project plans, and Gantt charts. Managing schedules, objectives, resources and budgets in a cross functional environment. Execute concurrent engineering techniques.
Task and Target Prioritization – Determine critical path items, mitigate project risks, develop project team priorities.
PC Software Knowledge:
Strong computer skills including knowledge of Windows based programs, including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation programs.
Preferred skills in at a minimum of one of programing language such as: MATLAB, VBA, Python, SQL, Ladder Logic.
This role will be based in Stryten’s Corporate Office in Alpharetta, GA. Plant and field work are required on a routine basis, where there is potential for exposure to lead, acid fumes, dirt and noise. (Personal protective equipment and supplies are required and provided.) .
Travel, additional requirements:
Typical Travel requirements will be 20%-40%.
