The Development Writer internship is an opportunity for individuals to learn in a nonprofit setting how to draft donor acknowledgements and assist with donor communications and correspondence. Together with development and communication staff, the Development Writer Intern will create compelling and timely content about the National Partnership’s fundraising priorities and results for use in print, electronic, and other communication channels. The intern will also organize fundraising and campaign information for effective presentation in publications, websites, and other media. Lastly they will write customized acknowledgment and stewardship correspondence signed by the appropriate leader.
The National Partnership’s Development team is open to all candidates. We strongly encourage people with disabilities, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and BIPOC individuals to apply. This is an unpaid internship, and the intern must earn college credit to be eligible. The intern will report to the Development Assistant and Database Administrator. As the safety and wellbeing of our team is of utmost importance, all National Partnership staff members and interns are working remotely until it is safe for us to resume working in an office, travelling, and holding in-person meetings.
The National Partnership is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to racial equity and social justice. We make a particular effort to recruit people of color to apply for open positions. Black, Indigenous, people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, people with disabilities, and people with other marginalized identities are encouraged to apply.
