The Summer Associate Graduate Intern Program is a 10+ week program beginning in June 2022 and ends in August 2022. The long-term intention for this program is to hire interns that prove their aptitude into full time roles. To qualify for an internship, applicants must be currently pursuing a graduate or PHD level degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date after the final day of the internship (December 2022 or later).

Job Description Overview:
We are looking for a driven individual with understanding of GAAP, and financial principles and terms who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. The associate can expect to participate in the preparation of financial reports, analyze actual financial data, learn more about our general ledger software, and assist with other accounting projects and activities. The summer associate graduate intern needs to be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking. The candidate should possess an understanding of accounting and financial principles and a positive attitude. The summer associate graduate intern should also be collaborative, trustworthy, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn.
The summer associate graduate intern will assist with supporting our continued mortgage, consumer and credit card portfolio growth and increased workload due to complex levels of controls, enhanced reporting and expanded levels of analysis to support the various accounting implications of COVID-19 and various other enterprise-wide projects. Areas of focus for the summer associate graduate intern include but not limited to CECL project, expanded reporting & data analytics and automation projects.
Prepares executive financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Assist with CECL implementation project, including UAT testing and data analysis and validation.
Support Technical Accounting team in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
Assist with month-end close activities.
Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting, finance and data analytics.
Master’s or PhD in accounting/finance, or MBA candidates preferred.
Working knowledge of GAAP.
Effective organizational skills and ability to respond to requests effectively and efficiently.
Experience with data analytics and working with large data sets.
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility.
Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible.
