The Summer Associate Graduate Intern Program is a 10+ week program beginning in June 2022 and ends in August 2022. The long-term intention for this program is to hire interns that prove their aptitude into full time roles. To qualify for an internship, applicants must be currently pursuing a graduate or PHD level degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date after the final day of the internship (December 2022 or later).
Job Descrption Overview:
To serve as a high knowledge resource for an assigned area delivering service to the organization. To provide forward-looking, industry perspective to effectively support the full lifecycle process of the service including definition, execution, and governance. Operates with minimal supervision in a complex environment. Uses advanced analytical skills to identify issues and risks. Supports data-driven decision-making solutions through the production of accurate and timely data analysis and related reporting.
Develop and maintain metrics (including Key Performance, Compliance, and Risk Indicators) and reporting that tracks Service Transition’s performance, compliance, and risk related activities.
Monitor the data and report on trends to ensure Service Transition achieves their established delivery objectives and remains consistent with its desired risk appetite.
Analyze the data to proactively identify potential problems and provide data driven solutions.
Coordinate efforts to strengthen Service Transition’s compliance and information security processes and procedures.
Facilitate audit and risk related inquiries about Service Transition’s standards, processes, procedures, directives, and other governing documents and activities.
Ensure audit and risk requests are communicated to appropriate Service Transition personnel.
Coordinate complete and accurate responses to such inquiries from Service Transition functional teams.
Work with Service Transition teams to maintain currency and accuracy of process documentation. Maintain review schedules for updating the documents.
Maintain awareness of internal and external requirements as they apply to Service Transition activities. Communicate these requirements to the Service Transition teams. Support remediation activities where necessary.
Maintain understanding and awareness of industry security and compliance standards, such as Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), NCUA Regulation 748 for Security Programs, and others.
Bring external perspective and ideas from relevant sources, keep current with technology, government/policy impacts and industry best practices
Drive industry benchmarking regarding the evolution of the service, including measuring established goals against performance and continuous improvement.
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Data Science or related field or relevant experience.
Experience and skill related to Data Visualization and Data Presentation.
Experience with SQL, R, Python, or other related tools.
Experience reviewing, monitoring, and improving the operating effectiveness of actions and controls, including their alignment to objectives and strategies using data.
Knowledge of and experience with addressing compliance or risk challenges associated with providing and managing an IT service.
Experience crafting, reviewing, and implementing policy, standards, and other governing documents.
Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance principles and practices.
Knowledge of information technology security standards, controls, and objectives.
Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced data analysis skills and experience.
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong situational analysis and decision-making skills.
Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to make sound decisions.
Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Working knowledge of NFCU’s functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives.
Working knowledge of ServiceNow.
IT Governance, Risk, Compliance, or Audit certification.
