To optimize the performance of business operations by analyzing current and forecasting future performance. Develop skill in and apply various analytical techniques to solve operational issues and support strategic initiatives. Works under moderate supervision.
Project and Expectations:
As part of this remote program, the Summer Associate Graduate Intern will be responsible for one large strategic project. As the lead for this project, they will be responsible for conducting the research, gathering the data, developing the analysis to make decisions on New Business Member Risk Profile and presenting recommendations to Lending executive leadership.
Business Solutions has identified a need to understand what drivers are the most important when determining risk. This risk is not only related to the underwiring of loans, but also the depositing of funds and businesses designed to hide or organize illegal activity. By being able to identify these members and transactions Navy Federal will be able to reduce its losses and precent future businesses from taking advantage other businesses or individuals. This evaluation will include a review of the current Business members along with potential Business members who are currently only Consumer members.
In order to better understand business trends and define what success looks like, the Summer Associate Graduate Intern will be expected to collaborate with internal business partners, shadow different areas and conduct interviews with individual counselors, leaders and executives. They will work closely with the Reporting and Analytics team to gather the needed data and build a comprehensive, insightful analysis. They will work with their leadership to develop relevant recommendations and present them to Lending executive leaders.
The Summer Associate Graduate Intern will make recommendations on how to operationalize changes through existing methods or creating new dashboards and automation. This project will rely heavily on effective communication with all stakeholder, strong data aggregation and analytical skills and a focused approach toward delivering actionable recommendations. Given the high level strategic aspect of this project and its impact on employees at all levels, including monetary, there is a need for strong interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to gain business understanding in a short amount of time.
