Events and Marketing Intern (2026)

Location: Hybrid – New York City (in-person presence required)
Schedule: Flexible; consistent availability required

About NYFMF

The New York Film & Music Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in New York City. Dedicated to bridging the arts and society, NYFMF supports projects that spotlight the intersection of film, music, and culture. Through events, screenings, and performances, we aim to deepen public engagement with the arts and uplift creative communities.

 

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and culturally engaged Events and Marketing Intern to assist in organizing live events, creating marketing materials, and supporting outreach. The intern will play a key liaison role—coordinating with artists and partners while gaining firsthand insight into the art and entertainment industries in NYC.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize listening sessions, film screenings, and live performances
  • Coordinate with past and future participating artists
  • Attend and review gallery openings, shows, and receptions
  • Assist in developing marketing materials including social media content, one-pagers, and artist profiles
  • Contribute ideas to refine NYFMF’s website and digital presence
  • Support outreach to artists, venues, and potential partners
  • Provide general event and operational support
  • Conduct research related to programming and outreach

 

Ideal Qualifications

  • Deep appreciation for the visual and performing arts
  • Strong understanding of American popular culture and contemporary trends
  • Excellent communication and networking abilities
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Comfort and discretion using AI tools for drafting, research, and content

 

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with Webflow or similar website platforms

 

What You’ll Gain

  • Practical experience coordinating events in NYC’s creative sector
  • Hands-on experience creating marketing materials using current tools and AI-assisted workflows
  • Familiarity with local artists, galleries, and performance venues
  • Insight into how nonprofit organizations support the arts
  • Direct interaction with artists, guests, and cultural professionals
  • A deeper understanding of how creative and institutional forces shape the production of space and public engagement with art

 

Internship Timeline

Start: April or May 2026

End: At least mid-August or September 2026
