Texas Gas Service a division of ONE Gas is looking for a Market Development intern to join our Market Development team. TGS is looking for students who not only excel in the classroom but also have strong integrity, work ethic and character. Students who value diversity and have a strong commitment to learn will be most successful in their internship with Texas Gas Service.
TGS interns receive challenging and exciting project assignments as well as opportunities to network with other interns and leadership. TGS interns are placed within departments and given the opportunity to experience the type of work they might encounter in a full-time position through projects, on-the-job assignments, job shadowing, and presentations. TGS internships offer a competitive environment that exposes students to project management and teamwork experiences.
Students who are interested in a career in a dynamic and exciting industry and who are in their junior year currently working on an Energy Management related degree program may be considered for a Summer 2022 internship. Consideration may also be given to students in their sophomore year of college in some disciplines.
Work assignments are anticipated to be in Austin, TX.
Research market trends and assist the team with market penetration efforts to maximize revenue growth.
Assist in innovative growth initiatives to penetrate the central Texas market.
Participate in job shadowing of identified company personnel to become familiar with business unit operations and job functions.
Become familiar with business unit organizational hierarchy, reporting structure and operating procedures.
Review applicable Federal, State, and local guidelines and regulations as relative to business operations.
Participate in team building activities with fellow interns, within office and field settings.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Prefer students who are projected to graduate in December 2022 or May 2023 with a degree in Energy Management or Business Sustainability, but other applicable majors may be considered.
Prefer students to have a GPA of above 2.9 as well as involvement in extracurricular, community support activities, particularly those demonstrating leadership. Prior work experience (internships, summer or part-time work while attending school, etc.) is also preferred.
Applications for our summer internship program open in August. We are actively recruiting interns beginning in September. Interviews follow the campus career fairs. Offers are typically extended to students by the end of October or early November.
Compensation: All ONE Gas internship positions are paid. We offer a fair and competitive pay rate.
