A leisurely summer it isn’t. A stimulating, challenging, educational, rewarding, immersive and, yes, fun, summer it is. Our trader interns spend ten weeks learning trading fundamentals, trading on simulated markets and completing projects in quantitative research, data science and financial modeling. Plus, you’ll be paired with an experienced trader to gain exposure to different trading desks, experience the financial markets firsthand and get a sense of our office culture. It’s an expedited training program that’ll put you on the fast track to your career as a trader.
Trading at Optiver:
Optiver makes markets. Our traders make it possible. Relying on a deep knowledge of math, stats, econ and engineering, you will design, execute and improve trading strategies. In the process, you will improve the very functioning of our financial markets by providing fair and accurate pricing. And you’ll do it in all market circumstances, no matter how volatile, thereby managing risk for anxious market participants. So the fruits of your labor will be apparent every minute the markets are open.
What you’ll need:
- Sophomore or Junior standing for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field
- Superior quantitative and logical reasoning skills
- Interest in strategic games and/or competitive activities
- Experience programming or scripting a plus
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening.
