This is an opportunity for students or graduates looking to do social impact work and consulting for development, as well as to learn Spanish in one of the most historically and culturally interesting parts of the world.
SALTO seeks to transform communities by creating opportunities for families living in a situation of poverty and economic vulnerability. To achieve this, we provide business facilitation and consulting services to farmers and artisans and help them improve the different areas of their business. Many of these farmers only attended a few years of elementary school and are indigenous peoples.
Our consulting teams work with micro-entrepreneurs to help them organise their production, implement cost strategies, develop a brand, implement a marketing campaign and organise their finances. Volunteer Consultants will work with teams of local students and will help one of these entrepreneurs improve one particular area of their business. The type of role and project will depend on the academic background, level of Spanish fluency and length of stay of the volunteers.
Volunteers with no Spanish knowledge will work on marketing and planning related projects. A background in business and economics, or previous experience in consulting is not required.
Volunteers will receive personalised training and materials to develop the activities that this role involved.
The duration of the internship is at the volunteer’s choice, it can be 1 or 2 months.
Due to the current situation, we are adapting our program to the virtual context.
