Slevin & Hart, P.C., a law firm with a highly specialized practice focusing exclusively on employee benefits, seeks an entry level paralegal to support its litigation team in its Washington, D.C. office. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and an outstanding academic record.

As a Paralegal, you will assist attorneys with a variety of client matters. Your work will include handling subrogation matters, supporting the Firms’ delinquency and withdrawal liability collection practice, and assisting with other types of litigation on behalf of fund clients. In addition, you will prepare IRS responses and audit responses, calculate interest and amortize amounts owed, and other assignments related to the Firm’s clients. You will regularly correspond both verbally and in writing with clients, administrative staff, individuals who participate in the pension and health plans that the Firm represents, and opposing counsel. The majority of your work is billable to the Firm’s clients.

Our downtown Washington, DC office is 4 blocks from Dupont Circle and easily accessible from the Red, Blue, Orange and Silver metro lines. The office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Slevin & Hart, P.C. has implemented a COVID-19 policy to provide a safe and healthy workplace for its employees. This policy allows employees who are normally required to work from the office the option of working from home, except as needed for essential business operations. As a Paralegal, you will handle essential business functions in the DC office at least 1 day a week and will have the option of working remotely for the remainder of your schedule.  A copy of the policy will be provided to job candidates invited for interviews.

The Firm offer competitive salaries and benefits, challenging work, and a culture of collegiality and respect among attorneys and staff.
