New York, NY Internship or Part-Time Job Expires April 30, 2021

OVERVIEW:
Traders at the D. E. Shaw group are at the core of our discretionary investment strategies, and we’re looking to train motivated and unique individuals to contribute to the team this coming summer. Among a diverse group of colleagues composed of published authors, entrepreneurs, opera singers, International Math and Physics Olympiad medalists, and many others, trader interns will take on complex challenges that are ever-changing and reach far beyond the world of finance. In New York, this intern program will run from June 14, 2021, to August 20, 2021 (ten weeks).

What you’ll do day-to-day:
Since our approach sits at the intersection of finance and technology, our traders employ a number of technological platforms to analyze market data and ultimately make qualitative decisions based on this analysis. Trader interns will assist in general trading activities, monitoring markets and positions, and analyzing market events.

Who we’re looking for:
• Ideal candidates will possess computer literacy, excel at both quantitative and qualitative problem solving, and have an interest in financial markets (absolutely no previous finance experience is necessary, however).
• Preference will be given to students approaching their final year of full-time study towards a bachelor’s or other advanced degree, though all are encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates can apply through our website: https://www.deshaw.com/recruit/jobs/Oncampus/Symplicity
