The D. E. Shaw group seeks a creative, critical thinker with impressive analytical, communication, and project leadership skills to join its COO Group. This individual will work with senior members of the team, along with our COO—a member of our Executive Committee—to address some of the largest and most important strategic challenges facing the firm. The role offers insight and the chance to provide input into the firm’s strategy and operations, an opportunity to be part of an inclusive and collegial working environment, and exposure to the firm’s Executive Committee.
WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
You’ll work closely with the firm’s leadership on strategic decision-making and manage demanding projects while interfacing with teams across the firm. You’ll assemble and lead project teams drawn from analysts and subject-matter experts and be jointly responsible for the team’s hiring, training, feedback, and development.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Candidates should have an extraordinary record of professional achievement and five to seven years of comparable experience.
• Experience managing people and processes across functions, keen attention to detail, and excellent analytical skills are essential.
• Superb written and verbal communication skills are required, as is a willingness to take on challenging, high-impact projects.
