VHB’s Watertown, MA office is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer to join the Structures team within our Transportation practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help grow our practice in southern New England with the support and resources of an established transportation firm.

About the Position
Structural Engineer | Watertown, MA
Responsibilities

Participate in the conceptual/final design of bridges, retaining walls, and other structural elements

Participate in bridge inspections and assist in the development of load capacity ratings
-
Assist with drafting of project details and plans using MicroStation and AutoCAD
-
Calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates

Help develop and prepare contract documents and specifications

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis), MS preferred

0-2 years of structural engineering experience

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and MathCAD

AutoCAD or MicroStation experience is a strong plus

Additional structural analysis and design software experience is a plus
-
3D modeling software experience is a plus
