Well by Messer is looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with our CEO for a one-two year fellowship designed for recent Yale graduates who are taking a gap year before medical school.
You’ll spend your days moving between the business of healthcare (strategy, operations, growth, finance) and the practice of medicine (shadowing doctors, sitting in on case reviews, learning how clinical decisions get made). By the end of the year, you’ll understand both sides of the exam room in a way almost no incoming medical student does.
What You’ll Do
- Work side-by-side with the CEO on the day-to-day and long-term priorities of running and expanding a group of medical offices
- Help plan and execute the opening of new practice locations — site selection, staffing, vendor relationships, launch logistics
- Shadow physicians in clinical settings and observe patient care firsthand
- Learn how to structure and present clinical cases alongside our medical team
- Support cross-functional projects spanning operations, finance, marketing, and clinical staff coordination
- Serve as a trusted gatekeeper and thought partner to the CEO — anticipating needs before they’re asked
