Welligence is a Harvard-founded private-equity backed start-up seeking data scientists with experience in R programming and SQL to help pioneer the use of analytics in energy research. 

You will join the data science team, whose members have backgrounds in petroleum engineering, statistics, and computer science. Teammates you’ll work with include the co-founder/CDS who holds a Ph.D. in machine learning and starting in 2021 will be an Assistant Professor at Harvard, and the principal data scientist who holds a masters in data science from Penn.

You must have experience manipulating and cleaning large datasets in R, and pulling data in SQL. You should be comfortable writing well-documented, logical, high quality R code. The most important skill is the ability to learn and familiarize yourself with the existing code base and grasp new ideas and concepts. Top-notch communication skills are essential. You should have a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science / Statistics / STEM or the equivalent.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
R (Rshiny, ggplot2, tidyverse, ggplot2, plotly)
Basic familiarity with concepts in machine learning
PostgreSQL
Engineering best practices: git, agile/kanban methodologies, code documentation
Experience designing relational databases/ERDs (nice to have)
Experience running ML algorithms in AWS or similar platforms (nice to have)
Experience working or interning on the data science team at another high performing company (nice to have)
