We are seeking a poised, engaging, high-energy and creative tutor for part-time online work with our clients. The ideal candidate holds a B.A. in English, Literature or History and has an appreciation for the challenges that non-native English speakers face in mastering American curricula and classroom expectations.
Specific duties will include conducting one-on-one online meetings with student clients; preparing frequent summary progress reports for parents and caregivers; brainstorming creative approaches to student client school assignments; providing ongoing editing services for work in progress; teaching structured English literature classes that include reading comprehension and writing assignments (curriculum provided by Writer’s Desk); grading and providing comments on written work submitted by students who are taking self-guided Writer’s Desk online classes.
The expected time commitment for this work is between 4-12 hours a week, depending on the number of student clients and the specific academic program for each client. All work can be done in a remote setting from any location with an internet connection.
