The Yale Club and Scholarship Foundation of Hartford, Inc. is again sponsoring a number of paid internships for Yale students at non-profits and government offices in the Greater Hartford and Northern Connecticut areas. We will assist participating students with their internship placements and will fund a stipend for each student so they can focus on serving at the non-profit or government office where they “match”. In prior years our club has supported interns at and helped place them with various high-impact Connecticut organizations including the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (cabe.org), Hartford Hospital (hartfordhospital.org), the Connecticut Invention Convention (ctinventionconvention.org), the Connecticut Treasurer’s office (portal.ct.gov/ott), the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) (portal.ct.gov/dph), the Hartford Economic Development Corporation (hedcoinc.com), Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) (irisct.org), the Connecticut Federal Public Defender (ct.fd.org), Real Art Ways (realartways.org), Wheeler Clinic (wheelerclinic.org) and others.
We’re looking for students who are eager to gain meaningful experience this summer as they give back to the Connecticut communities in Yale’s backyard! In the past, our summer internship program has helped students build skills around strategy, consulting, finance, marketing, technology, data science, and more which students have applied toward their future work, whether in the non-profit and public sectors or beyond.
Freshmen and Sophomore applicants are welcome and encouraged to apply!
We anticipate that the stipend for chosen recipients for a 6 week internship will be no less than $3,500 (assuming 30 hrs. per week of intern activity). Support at a higher amount will be considered by the Club for a longer commitment of weeks or hours or for special circumstances.
Applicants should apply by submitting resumes by March 1, 2026, along with a short statement of interest (e-mailed to internship@yaleclubhartford.org) that includes mention of the kind of non-profit work an applicant would like to support (e.g., arts and culture, education, healthcare, social action and advocacy, legal assistance, philanthropy, etc.). If a student has identified one or more specific Connecticut non-profits or government offices at which they would like to serve, they are encouraged to make note of this when applying. While priority will be given to applicants from the Hartford and Northern Connecticut areas, applicants from outside these areas will also be considered.
We look forward to hearing from you and to helping you make a positive impact in Yale’s home state!
