The Office of Career Strategy supports students and postdocs interested in careers outside of the academy. Your department’s placement officer and/or DGS, your advisor, and your dissertation committee will be your primary sources of support for your academic job search. Postdoctoral scholars pursuing an academic career should contact their department or Dr. John Alvaro, Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
In addition, consider the following resources as you embark on your academic job search:
- The Academic Job Search Workshop series, held throughout the academic year. Consult the Yale Career Link and the Center for Teaching and Learning for event updates.
- The Center for Teaching and Learning
- Vitae (a service of The Chronicle of Higher Education) booklets, webinars and articles
- Academic Job Search Handbook
