SUMMER 2024 COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP – YES NETWORK

The YES Network, the number one regional sports network in the nation, is the exclusive regional
television home of the 27-time World Champion New York Yankees, the Brooklyn Nets and the New
York Liberty. Having earned 146 Emmy Awards since its 2002 launch, YES also televises college
sports, Manchester City and AC Milan soccer and Emmy Award-winning original studio, biography,
interview and magazine programs. It has been the most-watched regional sports network in the
country for 18 of the past 20 years and made the list of Forbes’ top 10 most valuable sports business
brands in the world for nine straight years.

Timeframe: May-August 2024
Pay: $15/hour
Location: YES’ Manhattan, N.Y. office (200 Park Avenue)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Work directly with the Vice President, Communications in publicizing the business and on-air
    activities of the YES Network
  • Craft communications plans to promote YES’ various programming initiatives
  • Research and pitch YES-related story ideas to media
  • Research, write and edit press materials such as press releases, biographies, fact sheets and
    awards competition submissions
  • Fulfill internal and external information requests
  • Manage online media databases and photo library
  • Maintain YES and industry ratings databases
  • Conduct research to support YES’ various business units

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a matriculating undergraduate student
  • Must be a self-starter with great time-management and prioritization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be meticulous, professional, responsive, organized and resourceful
  • Must know how to conduct research over the Internet
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of the sports and media industries is preferred
  • Must possess a genuine interest in the communications/public relations field
  • Must be available to work in YES’ Manhattan office
