Boston University Summer Pre-Law Academy 2024

Boston University School of Law is excited to announce that in summer 2024, with support from LSAC’s Plus Program, they will again host the BU Summer Prelaw Academy (BU-SPLA), a residential four-week program focused on countering structural and environmental forces that unevenly tax students who are underrepresented in the legal profession. Boston University School of Law is proud to continue to be a part of this exciting and innovative program.

BU-SPLA will expose students to foundational law school coursework, critical race theory, and experiential learning. Students will also learn about the law school admissions process and be mentored while working on a personal statement, an optional statement, and a resume. Students will enjoy social outings in Boston and the opportunity to build community with their peers. BU Law faculty and staff will come together to welcome, teach, and support BU-SPLA students and offer a glimpse into what it is like to be a student at BU Law.

There is no cost to apply to or attend the program. Travel to and from Boston, housing during the program, and many meals will be covered. The program will host several social events on campus and outings in Boston. Additionally, all PLUS participants who complete the program will receive a $1000 stipend and an LSAC fee waiver.

BU-SPLA will take place at BU Law’s modern, spacious law complex from June 3–28, 2024. The application is now open and the deadline to apply is March 15, 2024.

Chloe Mathews, Senior Associate Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives will be hosting an informational webinar on March 4, 2024, to answer questions.
