Clear Dermatology is looking to hire five-six recent college graduates and aspiring doctors for our year-long, paid internship program. The interns work directly with the physicians and will learn how to take medical histories, document patient present illnesses, and to synthesize information into possible diagnoses. The interns will have the opportunity to assist in procedures including biopsies, excisions, cosmetic procedures and Mohs micrographic surgery.

The internship program begins each year around late May/early June and lasts roughly thirteen months. Qualifications are that students must have recently graduated from a university, taken the MCAT, and plan on attending medical school. Interest in Dermatology is preferred, but not required as this experience will help all aspiring doctors.

Clear Dermatology is a large general and surgical dermatology practice with locations in the Los Angeles area (Torrance and Manhattan Beach) where you will be working with dermatology providers assisting them with scribing electronic medical records, history and physical exam documentation, pre and post visit patient education, and innumerable vital tasks to ensure excellent patient care.  As dermatology and skin cancer providers, we operate a high volume practice with ample opportunities to learn general medicine, surgical technique, anatomy, and appreciate the bench to bedside approach of medicine integrating laboratory analyses and microscopic diagnoses to treat patients.  Allergy and immunology play a large role in dermatology where you learn about patch testing to diagnose the specific allergens causing allergic contact dermatitis.  Skin cancer, mainly basal cell, squamous cell, and melanoma, but a plethora of other tumors plague our patients as early as teens up through adulthood.  Aesthetically, you also learn about various laser and light technologies, chemical peels, Botox and injectables enhancing the aesthetically minded patient.  From kids to the elderly, we are a very well-rounded practice.

We are looking for intelligent, hardworking, enthusiastic people seeking to enrich their medical careers enroute to medical school.  The salary range is $18-$21 per hour. If interested in applying, please have them email a cover letter and resume to silvia@clear-derm.com.  All candidates must label their attachments with their first and last name. No deadline has been set and candidates are reviewed on a first come first served basis.
